Graniteville's sponge-like wetlands saved hundreds in Hurricane Sandy. As the City moves to replace them with a wholesale store, the community is not going down without a fight.

This investigative piece follows Staten Island's Gabriella Veraldi-Ward, the head of Staten Island Coalition of Wetlands and Forest. The group is challenging the Environmental Protection Agency's assessment of the project's environmental impact.

A block away from the Flatbush home of Reverend Gregory Seal Livingston lie the remains of African slaves owned by Brooklyn's most powerful founding families.

His decades long fight for reparations have prepared him for his next feat —advocating for the burial site. With plans in place for the City to build affordable housing atop the graves, he joins local activists every Wednesday to raise awareness of their fight.
